Opening celebration and screening of newly commissioned artwork 5/25/22 6:30 to 8:00 PM PST

So excited to be included in this. Not only is Fieldnotes: Califia, 2021 included in the Public Art CA new collection of Digital Media Art! It is also the first collaborative video with my wife and fellow artist Jessica Wimbley. You can see the work in person at the California Natural Resource Agency in Sacramento. ABOUT THE COLLECTION


Dyson & Womack and the State of California announce the opening of a new collection of public art. Dyson & Womack curated this first-ever public digital art collection for the State of California. This inaugural collection heralds the opportunity for leveraging state resources to showcase public art and provide public art funds to a wide range of media artists. The commissioned artworks are on display now at the new Natural Resources Agency Headquarters in Sacramento, California.

Screening


Dyson & Womack are proud to present this first-of-its-kind digital public art collection for the State of California and celebrate this landmark collection with a curated screening of work from all of the commissioned artists.


Works by Angelo Rosales, Chris Jordan, Chris Kallmyer, Danski Tang & Josh Shaffner, Elizabeth Leister, Gabriel Barcia-Colombo, Heidi Duckler Dance, Jessica Wimbley & Chris Christion, Kevin Cooley, Maru Garcia with Hye Min Cho & Maura Palacios Mejia, Miguel Arzabe, RIGER, and Sarah Rara.


Artists in Conversation


Commissioned artists Sarah Rara, collaborators Jessica Wimbley and Chris Christion, and the interdisciplinary group comprised of Maru García, Hye Min Cho, and biologist Maura Palacios Mejia Ph.D. join Dyson & Womack to discuss the impact of digital media in public art.
