MAKINGOUT.LA DEBUTS WITH MOBILE, VIRTUAL EXHIBITION AS PART OF MAIDEN LA ARTS EVENT
MAKINGOUT.LA DEBUTS WITH MOBILE, VIRTUAL EXHIBITION AS PART OF MAIDEN LA ARTS EVENT www.makingout.la launches on August 24th, 2016
In conjunction with Maiden LA, a month-long network of Los Angeles-based art “happenings” taking place throughout August, the website makingout.la extends the gallery experience by
virtually exhibiting the creative work of artists in a mobile phone browser for visitors to select Maiden LA-participating art galleries, institutions and artists-run spaces. The website launches, Wednesday, August 24th.
Makingout.la, co-curated by artist Camella DaEun Kim and artist/developer Tyler Stefanich, features 20 LA artists currently exhibiting at both landmark and unconventional art spaces, such as The Broad, LACMA, MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Jaus, 18th Street Arts Center and Museum of Jurassic Technology. Makingout.la enables visitors to these and other instiutions to augment the pleasure of looking at art in person by using a mobile phone’s web browser and GPS technology to “reveal” additional, virtual creative works at specific physical locations.
